I've Missed This...

Hello, old friend! Sorry I haven't posted in soooo long. Life has been kinda crazy with the Summer, family coming to visit, and going on vacations...and now I have a Facebook and, truthfully, IT IS SO ADDICTING...(help me. LOL!).
Anyway, there is really nothing new to share. Life is so crazy in the summer, but it's mostly filled with insignificant outings to the mall, the market, and the beach beach, or pointless hours spent either on the Internet, watching TV, and, the worst of all, sleeping the day away. I'm sorry to say that I did fall into that pattern for a while. I think that since there's practically no structure in our Summer schedule, that we aimlessly go about our day, and in the end find out we accomplished nothing.
Well, what I think I'm trying to say is, that I am looking forward to Summers end for a few reasons. The first being cooler weather. It has been so incredibly hot, and I can stand it no longer. Yuck! Second, even though I'm not starting school until January, I'm looking forward to my friends starting school, so that I can join in on the co-ops and some of the field trips (and yes, I know that I've graduated...what about it? haha). And thirdly, I can hardly wait to start baking. Pumpkin, pumpkin, PUMPKIN! I love to bake with pumpkin and cinnamon, and it's just not right to do so unless it's Autumn. Also, sweaters and pants will, once again, slowly make their way back into the front of my closet, while the shorts and tanks will be put away until needed again next year. These are just a few of the coming joys of Autumn.

I Made It!...

Oh yes! I have completed High School! What an amazing feeling of accomplishment! Graduation was so much fun. There was a lot of tears, and laughing, hugging, and smiles. It was a great day to celebrate, be with friends and family, and just have fun.

Just about to walk down the aisle...I was so nervous!
Look at those happy grads!
Moving our tassels.
Throwing our caps...and I threw mine backwards, what a dork!
Mi Familia!

Two Weeks...

In two weeks, I graduate. That is such a crazy thought! I'm still trying to get it into my brain, that High School is almost over. I remember seeing Janina graduate, and thinking "My graduation seems so far away", then seeing Justin graduate and still thinking that same thing, but now, here I am. It's kind of a scary thought to think I'll be graduating. School life is all I've ever known, it's safe and routine, but now it's ending. Im going to be taking college classes, and working, not attending the High School youth group, but instead going to the College and Career group. I have to grow up, it's a reality, and it's scary.
Now I know how it feels to want to go back in time. I wish I could re-live just a week of High School, and have in mind the knowledge of life that I know now, but didn't then. Maybe I would have work harder on my projects, and put in just a little extra effort. Maybe I would have been more outgoing and done more school activities. But now all I can say is "maybe I would have".
I know that this life that I'm living isn't really mine but God's, and that's a comforting thought. He know what lies ahead in my life, what classes I'll take, what job I'll do, what new friends I'll make, but He also knows the fear and sadness in my heart (who though I'd be saying those two words, two weeks before I graduate?). He knows that this is a big change for me, and that I'm a little anxious over the thought of "growing up", but I know that there is no task He will put in my path that I won't be able to conquer, or any obstacle that I won't be able to over come.
Our class verse is Romans 8:37- "But in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us". I know God is in control, and I look forward to what He has planned for my life.

One Last Picture...

We were really excited to be going to GradNight, so we took this super dorky picture...I love it!

Sara and I are sporting out cheesiest, squarest smiles...ohhh yaaa!

GradNight '09...

Last night was GradNight at Disneyland, and it was AWESOME!! Janina, Sara, and I stuck together, while David and his brother went and did their thing. Sara's mom and my mom were the chaperone's and the got to hang out together as well.

It was so funny because while we were waiting for the workers to drop the ropes at "Fronteirland", Janina turned to this girl and said "Oh my gosh, we're graduating" while jumping up and down like a cheerleader, and the other girl was like "Oh my gosh, I know, ahhhh!". It was funny because Janina graduated nine years ago, but can still pass as a high schooler. We went on a bunch of rides, which was nice because when I went last year, it was so crowded we only went on like four of five rides and that was it. Last night we went on at least ten rides, and still had time to go shopping on "Main Street". For my graduation present Sara's family gave me money to get something at Disneyland to remember the night, so I got an really cute GradNight jacket that Sara helped me pick out.

All in all, the night was a blast. We stood in lines with people that think personal space is non-existent, got soaked on "Splash Mountain", splashed people in the boat in front of us on "Pirates of the Caribbean" as well at the people in line, danced a little in the lines to pass the time, and crashed so hard on the drive back (then slept more when we got home). What a great memory!!

Just as we're about to leave...first stop, Starbucks!

David and I, the only Seniors awesome enough to go to GradNight. Haha!
Our fabulous group: Janina, Sara, me, David, and his brother Michael Work it ladies!
My mom had to get this picture.

While my mom was taking this picture, this huge mob of people were coming our way. I was afraid we were going to be trampled, and kept thinking "Take the picture, hurry, take it, take it, TAKE IT!". She took it just in time.

Walking The Aisle...

I'm so scared to walk down the aisle at graduation for two reasons. Firstly, I'll be in heels. I'm very skilled in the art of losing my balance, I can do it in flats, I can even do it in bare feet. Then secondly, EVERYONE is going to be looking at me. That makes me just a bit nervous...just a BIT! Maybe, if I do go down, I'll do it gracefully; but more than likely, I'll be like the kid in this video...

I think that if I go slowly, keep my eyes looking forward, and breathe a quick prayer, then maybe, just maybe, I WONT TOTALLY EAT IT!!

New Hair...

Yesterday, I went and got my hair done. It was my graduation present from my grandma. I was going to get it styled totally different from what it was, but decided not to. So, I just got it trimmed, blended the layers a bit, got some shorter side-swept bangs, and blonde highlights. What do you think?...

Self-portraits are fun

I'm so blonde (not just my hair color), so...let the jokes begin. Haha!

Finally, Some Opera Pics

For my friend Katie's birthday, she invited Sara and I to the opera. It was so much fun. We went to dinner at Nordstrom Cafe, then had dessert at Claim Jumper's after the opera. Katie went to Disneyland in the morning/early afternoon, and while she was there got us all (little sister's included) tiaras. She's so sweet!

We had so much fun getting all dressed up. Thanks for thinking of us, Katie!!
I know I titled this post "Some Opera Pics", and I only put one, but this was the best one so that's why I put it only this one. Though I'd clear that up. LOL!

Happy Birthday Katie...

Today is my friend Katie's 15th birthday!!!

Katie, I hope you're day is amazing. I am so looking forward to tonight! I love hanging out with you and you're mom (she's awesome). Sara and I are both really excited about the opera, and just being out with you on you're special day. I'll see you this afternoon mi Amiga, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Ohhh yes, this is totally Katie. Haha!

Katie's birthday/Opera pics coming soon...(I have to take them first. LOL)

Untitled...

I love Summer. Spending all day out side, and eating watermelon. Having bbq's, and watching fireworks. Swimming in the pool, and going to the beach. The smell of sun screen, and laying out trying to tan. School being out, and shorts and t-shirts being in. Going camping, and having bon fires. Using bug repellent, and still getting bit by mosquitoes. Driving with the windows down, and your hair up in a ponytail. Wearing brighter colors, and having darker skin. Running barefoot in the sand, and riding waves back to the shore. Summer camp, and playing night games. Enjoying the long hours of daylight, and stargazing in the warmth of the summer nights. Family reunions, and countless sleepovers. Eating snocones, and unlimited otter pops...I love Summer.

Spirit West Coast and Abort73...

The organization, Abort73, asked our youth group to volunteer at their booth at Spirit West Coast. Can you believe it?! Only the Seniors are being asked to go, so I am really hoping to be able to participate. I'm going to talk to my youth pastor on Sunday and get all the details. It is the weekend before I graduate, so I don't know what (if any) things are going to be going on, but I'm in prayer about it. What a neat experience it will be, and a great way to further the Kingdom!

On Wednesday...

On Wednesday I went to the DMV to take my permit test....I PASSED!! I was so excited. I took it the week before, but missed it by one. ONE! I couldn't believe it. The only thing that kept me sane was the lady behind the window showed me some sympathy. Oh, just so you know, all the DMV workers, and I mean ALL OF THEM, are so amazingly unkind, that you are almost afraid to go up to the window and be "helped" (if that's what you want to call it). So you can see why I was surprised to get some sympathy from her. Thank you, kind DMV lady. I never knew how fun it is to drive, especially legally...but we don't need to get in to THAT. So from now on, I will be doing all the family driving. Going to the market, to church, to youth group, and all the other places we go. I feel so grown up!!

Sillyness!...

It's late and I can't sleep, so here is what I do when this happens...I post silly things!!

Do these feet belong to the same person, or is one mine and the other Sara's? If you chose the second option, you are correct!!! Haha, this looks so weird, that I had to post it. Mine is the foot on the right, just so you know.

Oh, and I don't think that "Sillyness" (the title of my post) is a real word, or that's not how you spell it at least. LOL!!

Jack's Birthday...

Jack turned four years old on Wednesday, and we went to Disneyland. Our friends Sara and Shawna got to come also. Us girls went off and rode the bigger rides together, while Jack and my mom rode the smaller ones. We had so much fun acting like we were really scared to ride the fast rides, and getting sympathetic looks from the people still waiting in line. We were screaming so loud and yelling to each other on the rides, that by the end of the day our voices hurt so bad that we were barely talking to each other. I think our favorite ride that day was "Big Thunder Mountain", we rode it about seven times...haha it was GREAT!! The weather was so nice that day. It was sunny and warm, but not hot, and just a perfect day. Jack had so much fun riding some of the bigger rides with us. He rode "Splash Mountain" and "The Matterhorn". He was such a good sport when we reached the HUGE hill at the end of "Splash"...it's scary even for me, but only when I'm in the front. LOL!!

By the end of the day, we were all so tired, and ready to get home. We got Sara and Shawna home around 11:00 p.m., and then we got home around 11:30, and literally fell into bed...I can't wait until the next time. YAY!!

Jack in the "A" in front of California Adventure
What a good lookin' group!!
Sar and Me (does my neck look reeealy looong?...Jocelyn the Giraff).

Julia and Shawna on "Screamin" just before blast-off.

That's my castle in the backround. Everyone says it's Cinderella's, but it's not...it's mine. LOL!

He's Almost Four...

In just 13 days, Jack will be FOUR years old...crazy. For his birthday we're going to go to Disneyland!! He's super excited...he loves that place (but who doesn't??). Oh ya, and every time we go there, he gets this MONSTROUS cupcake, that has like 6 inches of frosting, and eats it all (my mom scrapes off most of the frosting though). Talk about a SUGAR RUSH!!!

This isn't a "Disneyland cupcake", but he doesn't care. LOL!!

Next Month...

Next month, I will be graduating. I am excited, but I am THRILLED that my friend Priscilla will be there also. She told me last week that her dad said that she could come. Her mom and sisters and her will fly out here in late May to visit some relatives, then Priscilla will stay behind and stay with my family for a few days. I CAN'T WAIT!!! I am so glad that my dearest friend will be here for my graduation, and that I will have seen her twice in one year. That hasn't happened since they moved out of California over 10 years ago, so you can see my excitement.

Can't wait to see you face to face Priscilla!!...

Ice Skating...

Friday our home school group went ice skating. I hadn't been skating for so long that it was really hard to get my balance at first. Finally, after like an hour and a half, and almost falling like 10 times, I got it! I actually didn't fall at all. I was very proud of myself because I AM NOT a graceful faller in the least, so it would have been extremely embarrassing. Sara and I were skating buddies. She took lessons when she was around five(so it's been a while), but she was still better and faster than I was. She didn't fall either...we're thinking about going pro (not!!).

There was probably like fifteen kids out on the ice from our group, so it was fun to skate around with them too. My friend Darnell would like to sneak up behind me and then pass me really fast...he fell like three time (serves him right...LOL!). Afterwards all of our feet hurt terribly, but it was well worth it.

My peeps: Sara, Julia, Jamie, Shawna, and Maddie.
Julia's homies.

Awww!...now we DO NOT look alike. Julia looks more like my mom and I am more of my dad.

Ooooo, girls with attitude and ice skates. They're dangerous...LOL!

Best Friends!!! I look so SHINY in this pic...ahhhhh!

Priscilla may...

Priscilla may be called "The Fearless Baker" but that is only because she has an 11 pound rolling pin that she's not afraid to use...

...okay, well it's not quite an 11 pound rolling pin, it's more like a 12" wooden dowel, and maybe only I call her "The Fearless Baker" because she can bake just about anything there is. But don't you think she looks kind of dangerous in this picture?...just a little? I'm scared...LOL!

Hope you enjoy this post Priscilla, I miss you!!

Disneyland Passes...

Today my friend Katie told me that she was on her way to Disneyland to get her annual pass. So, now all of my friends (Sara, Katie, Meagan, and Chase) all have Disneyland passes. Funny thing is, we haven't been together yet. It's fun having passes because you feel like you own the park. You can come and go when you like, and also park hop. Julia and I like to park hop, but the original Disneyland is my favorite. We'll go to California Adventure to ride some of the fast rides, then go back to Disneyland and go on Indiana Jones...yeah!! (my favorite ride, can you tell?). Anyway, here are some pictures from a recent trip to Disneyland for our friend Emma's birthday.

It was raining all day while were there, so most of the time we were pretty wet...and cold, very cold.

While we were in line for Indiana Jones (for like 45 minutes) we kept sane by taking pictures or ourselves.

It was a fun time, and even in the rain Disneyland is still, "The Happiest Place On Earth"...or so they say.

Anchors Aweigh...

Here are some picture of Justin's recent visit. He went back home this past Sunday, so we had about 12 days to visit with him. He'll be deploying soon, so he came down on leave. He'll be over seas for 6-8 months. I am kind of anxious, and stressing about his safety, but the Lord knows the number of his days, and I know Justin is always in His care.

Long Time, No Post...

Okay, so since I don't really have anything in particular to write about, I'll tell you about my past few gym experiences. Last week, I got a text from my friend while I was on the elliptical machine. So, I texted...well tried to text her back, but in doing so managed to almost fall off the machine and hit the lady next to me...I did say almost. So that was SUPER embarrassing. Then yesterday I was, once again, on the elliptical and there was a gym employee cleaning off the machines. So she's cleaning the bikes in front of me, and then moves to the elliptical. The one to the right of me was occupied, so she went to the one on my left. *Just so you can get an accurate picture, there is only like a 12 inch space between the machines*. Anyway, she's cleaning it, and I'm just doing my thing, when all of a sudden I feel a bump. I was like "Oh my gosh, did I just hit her?!" The funny thing is, is that like two seconds before I was thinking to myself, "I hope I don't hit her, that would be so awful". Well, sure enough, I look back and she's looking at me with this look of "Huh...I just got hit by an elliptical". I didn't hit her hard or anything, so she wasn't hurt (which was good). I apologized and she said it was her fault, she got in the way (she was behind me, so I couldn't see her). It was like something you'd see in a comedy or something. So I guess tomorrow I'm not working out on those...LOL!

What's Your Name?...

This is just somthing I found funny, that I thought I would share. I volunteer at the library on Tuesdays to get some more volunteer hours in before graduation. Anyway, there is always this group of special needs adults that sits with their nurse at this one table in the reading area. There is this one guy, though, who doesn't sit with them...he sits over at this secluded desk on the side. I'm just minding my business, putting books back, making sure they're in order, and looking neat and tidy. So, I over there near him and I hear him say, "Hey hey, look look". So I go to see what he's talking about and it turns out that he wants me to write my name in his folder. So he finds a blank page, and tells me which line to write on. A little while later, he calls me over again and shows me his name, and next to it is mine. It was so cute because he was like "Hi me, uhh, my name is Tim". Then he asked again what my name was, and he was like "Ohhh, Jocelyn" and he laughs.

Sierra Springs Class of '09...

We went to the duck pond in Temecula and had our photo shoot. One of the moms wanted us to all match with white shirts and jeans. We (the Seniors), on the other hand didn't because that's what last year's graduating class wore, and we wanted to be different. Anyway, it was still fun. One picture (that I don't have), we are jumping off a fence, and it looks like we are doing a Clorox Bleach commercial. I can hear it now, the ladies voice on the t.v.:
"If you want your graduating class to look as good as these graduates, use Clorox Bleach...they did".
Cheesy, I know. Anyway, here we are...the Class of '09!!!

*Note: All these shots are not very good because there was like six cameras and we didn't know which one to look at...*

Okay, so going clockwise it's, me, Doug Suitt, Deyvid Hosburg, Patrick Rogers, Lindsey Shaw, Daniel Fujii and Phillip Rondael.

Once again, BAD shot. I'm in the middle of saying something (probably telling Doug to be quiet because he kept making comments) and Patrick and Phillip are obviously in conversation.
Okay, this is about the worst one of all. Lindsey and I are both doing our cheesy smiles, Daniel looks like he's posing, and Patrick and, Deyvid this time, are in conversation.
Maybe the camera people (our mothers) should have lined up to take pictures...LOL!

Some People...

"Some people walk in the rain, and others just get wet." -Roger Miller

It has been raining since Thursday. I like the rain...but not this much (ahh, now it's raining harder!!). I'm more for the sunshine and dryer weather. Although, I do love to listen to it as I fall asleep. It's is such a soothing, rhythmic sound, just like a lullaby.

"...let the rain sing you a lullaby". -Langston Hughes

HELP!...

Okay everyone, I need help. For my graduation video (it's a picture slideshow of me thoughout the years), I need a song. I like "Unwritten" by Natasha Beddingfield, but my mom wants me to have a Christian song. I dont want a hymn, I wan't something a little more qick paced and up beat. There is a Nicole Nordeman song called "Legacy", I like that song too. If you have any ideas of songs you like, that you think I might like...let me know.

Game Night...

Tonight I had some of my Senior class over for a game night. It was small, there was only five of us (including my friend Sara, who's a Sophomore), but it was fun. We played Nintendo Wii, and had some board games out, but didn't get to those. It was a little slow in the beginning, so I suggested we make a Mii, so Patrick made a Michael Jackson Mii, that was funny. He had eyeshadow, blush, a mole right by his nose, and a really wide mouth, but super thin lips. I made some remark about pretending to like Michael Jackson, so they were going to call this Mii, Jocelyn Jackson, but that would have been me, and I'm not that ugly. After dinner, we just sat outside and talked around the fire. The guys asked if I had a guitar, so I got my brothers old one (I think almost every guy knows how to play guitar, it's like programmed into them or something). Anyway, at one point I tried to build up the fire, and all of the sudden this HUGE white cloud of smoke started to build, and poor Lindsey was consumed by it. I couldn't even see her!! The guys made sure I knew that I was NOT a Girl Scout. They were like "Gosh Jocelyn, you were obviously not a Girl Scout?", so I jokingly replied "Yeah, I kind of failed that class", then Deyvid was like"It's a class?!". No, Deyvid, it's not a class, that was a joke.

All in all, the night seemed like a success. I was really nervous yesterday and today about it. I was afraid that my hostessing skills would fail me, that there was going to be a lot of awkward time of not doing anything, and that the night was just going to be a bore...but God is faithful.

Sara, me and Lindsey.

Here are four of the seven Seniors...Lindsey, Deyvid, Patrick, Sara's a Sophomore, and me.

The two of the five guys. Where are the other three?...hmmm.

Me and Sara...Smile!! You're on candid camera!!!

This was my favorite part of the night...just talking and playing guitar.
